Before your fNIRS testing session:
Please ensure you/your child has clean, combed, dry hair that is free from any product.
To gain access to the scalp we will ask to remove any head coverings or hair accessories if present.
The testing session may be over an hour long. We always try to accommodate any time for breaks if needed, you can bring water/a beverage and some snacks with you.

Saline gel is used to get a good connection between the EEG electrodes and the scalp. This gel is easily washed out of the hair after your session, we can provide shampoo and clean towels to remove any access gel.

Electroencephalography (EEG) is a neuroimaging technique used to measure electrical activity of the brain over time using electrodes placed on the scalp.
It is painless and non-invasive.
